The sex industry is complex. Energies of control, manipulation, greed and power play are present. On one hand, the industry is a product, reflection of and reaction to the control, manipulation, greed and contention for power from which it stems. If we zoom into the strip club as an example, there exists a web of transactions (both business and personal) between owners, managers, dancers, customers and staff.
More than ever there is open expression from dancers that the activity and work is empowering - it is freedom of expression and movement, a way to make money, a place to feel powerful, open and free in the body.
In my view, it is all of these things and may be a wise step or link for many who choose to participate. Perhaps it’s a stable job, a platform for freedom of expression, a community for bonding and empowerment, a self-expression tool to feel good in the physical form. It may also be a means of revenge, a platform to manipulate, a fallback for income, an emotional outlet, an obligation. We can ask ourselves, what is true empowerment and power?
Regardless of our lens, the sex industry contains energies of control, manipulation, greed and power play. That is truth. The energies are present.
My proposal is to step completely out of current models into brand new territory.
Birthed new and naked, how would we choose to self-express?
Would we dance?
How would we move?
What would we wear?
Where would we perform?
Swiping all prior constructs, existing norms, expectations and models, what would the soul choose?
My intention is to question the programs we run, systems within which we participate, reactions to millennia of control based roots. With vision and the ability to SEE, we have options: to unplug, to stay plugged, to pave new pathways, to create. All is choice.
How would we express beauty and create in a NEW space - not in reaction to, but in initiation with Source as inspiration? How would these questions apply to any industry?
These are questions I ask myself and wanted to share~
